What Did I Do For My Business Today?
Did I start my business? No. Did I make any additional money today? No – not directly. Did I do anything for my business? Yes. How do you measure what you’re doing and how much of it you are doing? Use time.
Don’t be ridiculous, if you are working full-time you probably won’t put in another 5 hours every single day. Make small, but simple tasks; 1 small task per day. Write 1 blog, sign up for 1 new site to market your personal brand, write 1 paragraph of information for your book, whatever your task. Make it simple to keep the routine and absolutely stick to it, no exceptions.
How can you maximize your time? Combine physical and mental tasks. I learned this one from Robert Pagliarini the author of The Other 8 Hours.
Think about how many tasks you can combine. Can you listen to something while brushing your teeth, showering, driving? Can you read while on the treadmill? Can you sit on a stability ball or stand while working? Figure out your own list, but the possibilities are endless.
Matt Sodoma’s small daily tasks
· Sign up for 1 site on knowem.com – takes 2 minutes.
· Healthy decisions – 0 minutes – food preparation time would be done anyways, just takes conscious decisions. The p90x2 workout that I do is extra credit. I want to do the 90 days because I can, not because I have to. Eating correctly and proper supplementation is all you need to be fit.
· 10 minutes of Chinese – I usually listen to 30 minutes of Mandarin to and from work and then do 10 minutes of reading/studying per day. The car time is the extra credit.
12 minutes per day and conscious decisions is all it’s costing me. Any additional work is extra credit.
